An optimized and efficient structure
Art Massif designed and manufactured the mass timber structure of this indoor skating rink, incorporating innovative solutions to combine performance, aesthetics, and installation efficiency. Its imposing curved roof rests on glulam arches spanning over 31 meters, assembled with millimeter precision using rigid joints.
Advanced connection engineering, particularly the glued rods at the top of the columns, ensures a flawless finish with no visible cracks. The optimized design of the column bases promotes water drainage, ensuring increased durability. Optimized roofing materials, with 2×6 decking and prefabricated panels incorporating plywood, provide an economical and aesthetic solution, while significantly reducing installation time.
Thanks to its expertise and commitment to innovation, Art Massif delivered a high-performance and elegant glulam structure, perfectly suited to the community’s needs.
