An Optimized and High-Performance Structure
Art Massif designed and manufactured the mass timber structure for this covered skating rink, integrating innovative solutions to combine performance, aesthetics, and installation efficiency. Its impressive curved roof is supported by glulam arches over 31 meters long, precisely assembled using rigid joints.
Advanced engineering of the connections, particularly glued-in rods at the top of the columns, ensures a flawless finish with no visible gaps. The optimized design of the column bases facilitates water drainage, enhancing durability. The roofing materials were carefully selected, with a 2×6 decking and prefabricated panels incorporating plywood, offering a solution that is both cost-effective and visually appealing while significantly reducing installation time.
Thanks to its expertise and commitment to innovation, Art Massif has delivered a high-performance and elegant glulam structure, perfectly suited to the needs of the community.
